Technical Knowledge Born from a Passion for Art.
Technical Prowess Born from a Passion for Art.
My professional journey in Conservation and Restoration is the direct result of a deep passion for art, combined with international-standard technical Knowledge. While my formal education in Fine Arts earned me a Bachelor's degree (graduating with honors in 2000), the most important foundation came from my family tradition and immersion in the arts from childhood in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
More than a technique, conservation is a mission.
My 20 years of experience in the restoration field reinforced the belief that the most viable and honorable way to work with art is by protecting the history and cultural identity of our heritage.
Training, Ethics, and the Pursuit of Excellence.
The foundation of this work is a commitment to ethical and qualified restoration, rooted in my training in Florence (Italy), which introduced the principles of minimal and reversible intervention. It is this knowledge and my diverse background that allows for the use of a combination of both traditional and modern techniques that ensures that your artwork is returned to its original splendor.

Training, Ethics, and the Pursuit of Excellence.
My diverse training allows for a comprehensive knowledge many materials and treatment methodologies. I was able to learn conservation from three separate countries, (Italy, Brazil and the United States) which allows me to use varied techniques and materials. I can use either a traditional or modern conservation approach, or I can use a combination of both. All procedures are conducted in accordance with the ethical standards set forth by the American Institute for Conservation (AIC). Its key principles include careful examination, responsible treatment, accurate documentation, open communication, and preventive care.

The Artistic Vision That Informs Restoration.
My aesthetic sensitivity, honed over years as a practicing artist, is the differential I bring to the restoration table. In my own artwork, I am predominantly interested in faceting the subject and forms with decorative motifs, to evoke movement and produce a pleasing design. Geometry plays a significant role: not only through elementary formal simplifications of shapes but also through the symmetry and logic it creates.
This meticulous eye allows me to assess and intervene on artworks with a profound understanding of the structure, color, and original intention of the artist, ensuring that the restoration rescues the aesthetic integrity of the piece with maximum technical prowess.
